Biodolomer for LIFE to present at conference focusing on plastics in the circular economy in Helsingborg on April 26th

Åke Rosén, founder of GAIA BioMaterials, will deliver a speech at “Recyclingdagen i Helsingborg”, focusing on the additional benefits of bioplastics – Biodolomer® in particular – as compared with other materials and how it all links into the circular economy and Biodolomer for LIFE.

“Recyclingdagen i Helsingborg” is an annual event arranged by the magazine Recycling, Sweden’s leading news company covering the recycling and waste management industries from a B2B perspective. This year’s theme is “Plastics’ role in the  circular economy”.

Biodolomer for Life participated in panel discussion on plastic pollution

On February 26th Biodolomer® for Life was invited to participate in a panel discussion regarding the growing problem of plastic pollution in the oceans, as fossil plastics add to the plastic sea belts, as well as the microplastics content, causing great harm to both environment and wildlife.

The panel discussion was held in conjunction with the screening of the new documentary “Plastic Ocean”, which highlights the rapidly growing problems with plastics in the oceans. The screening took place in Ängelholm and was attenced by leading local politicians and scientists focusing on the problems with plastic pollution.

Martin Dyberg, Strategic Communicator at NSR AB and Vera Park, was representing Biodolomer® for Life during the panel discussion, during which he shared information about the project and the circular economy, as well as showing samples of products made from Biodolomer®, such as shopping bags, waste bags, food trays and bottles, which will not only contribute to solving the problems with plastc pollution, but also help closing the loop in the circular economy by turning into mulch and biogas when in an industrial compost.

“A real eye opener regarding plastic pollution”

Biodolomer® for Life presented at “The Cultivating City Bazaar”

Biodolomer® for Life exhibited during “Den odlande stadsbasaren” (The Cultivating City Bazaar) at Oxhallen in Helsingborg on Saturday, February 10th.

The event was part of a pilot project to promote ”innovation for sustainable urban development in Helsingborg, Landskrona and Stockholm”. The aim is to explore the opportunities associated with green workplaces and companies. This as sustainable and integral neighbourhoods through urban cultivation is a strong trend in large cities globally.

During the event Biodolomer® for Life presented how products made from Biodolomer® can help further this aim through the innovative nature of the material.oxhallen_lowres_4

Biodolomer® is fully biodegradable biomaterial made with renewable ingredients. This to realize the goal of creating the circular economy.

Great interest in Biodolomer® for Life and Biodolomer®

Visitors and other exhibitors alike were very interested in hearing more about the Biodolomer for Life project and how it can contribute to closing the loop in the circular economy through its ability to be composted into mulch and biogas. They were also very very interested in hearing more about Biodolomer® and its unique qualities; being biodegradable and compostable, but especially how it can increase the shelf life of food when used as packaging material. Something to be expected considering the theme of the exhibition.
