Biodolomer for LIFE seminar in Brussels April 25 2019
Biodolomer for LIFE invited professionals in the plastic business, professional organizations and cities/regions in EU to a breakfast seminar to discuss that it is possible already today to substitute 80% of the fossil volume plastics with the renewable, biodegradable and compostable material Biodolomer.
Åsa Webber, ambassador at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the EU and Sebastien Paqout, member of the cabinett of commisioner Vella spoke about their view on fossil plastics and biomaterial. Åke Rosen, the founder of GAIA told the story of Biodolomer and showed many products made from the material that attracted a lot of attention among the audience. They were also given the opportunity to bring some products home for testing.
For a biobased material like Biodolomer to expand on the market it needs support from the legislation. Legislator needs to listen to researchers/specialists within the field of biomaterials in order to understand just how far the development of degradable biomaterials has come and make decisions based on that understanding.
